Our vehicles can carry up to 4 individuals. For example, if you are a party of 8 travellers staying in the south of Mauritius, please select 2x South Island Transportation.
Private & Shared Groups
We offer both private and group experiences for this tour…
Booking a private experience for any number of travellers up to 14 implies you and your party gets private access to the tour and guides.
Booking a shared group experience allows you to join a group of up to 5 other travellers with whom you share the adventour.
A minimum of two travellers is required to organise this Adventour. If you are a solo traveller, your tour may be rescheduled so you can join a shared group on another date.
If you would like to book a private party of more than 14 travellers, please contact us so we can work with you to accommodate this adventour!

Hike to the highest peak in Mauritius, Black River Gorges Peak (828 metres), explore the National Forest Arboretum among unique gigantic vine trees, and relax at the volcanic lake featuring a prominent Hindu temple. With an expert local guide taking care of all details, you’ll fully immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty of Mauritius.

Get to know this 6.8 kms out-and-back trail with 251 metres elevation gain. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 hours to complete. This is a very popular area for birding,and hiking.

Staying hydrated is essential on this hike. Prepare at least 1.5L of water. Please ensure you have sufficient nutrients to avoid fatigue.

Please make sure to dress accordingly for this hike. Hands and feet should be free for the rock scrambling part of Le Morne mountain. Please make sure that you wear hiking or trail running shoes with good grip.
The highest peak in Mauritius is a moderate peak to hike, it is rated 3/5 in terms of difficulty. Ensuring proper precaution allows for the best experience and to avoid unwanted injury or cause for concern.
